Amber Townend – Director

BSc (Hons) Speech and Language Therapy CPSP

Amber lived in the U.K. for eleven years where she studied and graduated as a Speech Pathologist at Birmingham City University 2011.

Since then she has moved back to Australia and has worked with families and children with various speech, language, literacy and fussy eating needs.

Amber has worked in the U.K. NHS hospitals, clinics, child development centres, mainstream primary and high schools, special needs primary and high schools, kindergartens, childcare centres and has provided services in homes.

She continues to build her professional development knowledge and has attended courses in Makaton, PECS, Sensory Processing and Sensory Integration, Developmental Dyspraxia and Autism Queensland research and updates.

Amber also continues to update her professional knowledge by being a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist as a member of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA). This involves meeting yearly professional development standards, which are set by SPA.

Amber loves working with children and is dedicated in providing a professional speech pathology service. She provides children with a fun, uplifting and encouraging learning environment.

A family centred approach is an important foundation for Amber’s intervention approach and her aim is to help parents and carers develop skills to enhance their child’s communication abilities. All therapy provided is individualised and tailored to suit each child’s needs.

In her private practice, Amber delivers 1:1 clinic, home, preschool or school based assessment and therapy for children of all ages.

She is registered with Medicare and major health insurance providers.
